<p>______5/24/2018 Media Contact: Cyndi Mudge 503-325-1010</p><p>ASTORIA SUNDAY MARKET</p><p>OPENS MOTHER’S DAY!</p><p>NORTHWEST LION & DRAGON DANCERS KICKS OFF 2012 SEASON!</p><p>ASTORIA, OR – The Northwest Lion & Dragon Dancers from Portland, Oregon, will help Astoria Sunday Market celebrate opening day on May 13. “This is a fun and energetic group of young performers doing traditional Chinese dance,” says Market Director Cyndi Mudge. “With the recent ground breaking in Astoria for the Garden of Surging Waves Chinese Cultural Park, having the Northwest Lion & Dragon Dancers kick off our season seemed an appropriate way to bring added excitement to opening day.” Astoria Sunday Market is in its twelfth season of bringing fresh produce and other products grown or made by vendors to the heart of historic downtown Astoria. Astoria Sunday Market is open from 10 am to 3 pm every Sunday starting May 13 and running through October 14. The coins are made by Fernhill Glass Studio located on Exchange Street in Astoria behind Fort George Brewery. “We’ll be looking for opportunities to give away the coins throughout the season,” explained Mudge. Participating merchants include Mise En Place Kitchenware, Klassy Kloset and Purple Cow Toys. “Like” Astoria Sunday Market Facebook page for Glass Coin giveaway announcements.</p><p>ASM Downtown Coffee Walks: Tour our downtown coffee shops before the Astoria Sunday Market opens! Two Coffee Walk dates are scheduled where local coffee shops are planning something special that morning. Astoria Coffee House & Bistro is working with the Cargo Store and Lunar Boy Art Gallery to serve coffee cocktails for Breakfast. The Rusty Cup is planning on demonstrating Latte foam art; Wet Dog Café & Brewery is sampling special baked goods for that day only and Columbia Chocolates at ABECO Office Supplies is </p><p>______P.O. Foragers return with their treasures then work with Chef Holen to create an interesting and sumptuous feast at Mise En Place Kitchenware. The monthly Forager’s Feast is $45 per person with a portion of the proceeds benefitting Astoria Sunday Market.
