<p> Bromley & Lewisham Mind Job Description</p><p>Job Title: Recovery Support Adviser</p><p>Service: Recovery Works</p><p>Location: London Borough of Bromley</p><p>Responsible to: Senior Recovery Support Adviser</p><p>Role Summary: To enhance the quality of life, choice and opportunities for people with mental health problems in Bromley by providing information and advice, person-centred recovery-orientated support, community bridge building and skills development courses. </p><p>Key Responsibilities 1. Provide information and advice to enable people to manage their mental health issues and take control of their own lives </p><p>2. Provide focused, time limited person-centred support to up to 30 people with mental health problems at any one time, including supporting people to develop and enact tailored recovery plans</p><p>3. Develop an excellent knowledge of opportunities available in the Borough and empower people to access them</p><p>4. Work closely with staff from B&L Mind, Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust and other providers to ensure the delivery of a joined up and coherent provision for people with mental health problems in the Borough</p><p>5. Undertake skilled assessments of needs and risks and make recommendations regarding appropriate interventions</p><p>6. Keep accurate records using the relevant software and contribute to the evaluation of the effectiveness of the service as required, include ensuring that outcome measures are completed and recorded in a timely and accurate way</p><p>7. Ensure excellent case management, including the setting and managing of expectations, using SMART targets and undertaking regular reviews</p><p>September 2016 8. Work in an outcome-focused way to ensure that an individual’s quality of life is enhanced by their involvement with the service and the community they are living in</p><p>9. Develop and maintain excellent partnership working relationships with a wide range of statutory and voluntary sector organisations across the Borough, brokering opportunities for clients in line with their goals and interests.</p><p>10.Co-facilitate self-management and skills development courses as part of the Recovery College, working closely with co-facilitators with lived experience and the Recovery College Co-ordinator.</p><p>General Responsibilities</p><p> Work in accordance with Bromley & Lewisham Mind’s Values, Aims and Objectives </p><p> Provide a positive representation for the organisation both internally and externally, including promoting our work</p><p> Comply with all organisational and departmental policies and procedures and ‘Mind Quality Mark’ quality assurance process</p><p> Promote positive understanding, awareness and attitudes towards mental health and dementia as part of day-to-day duties</p><p> Work at all times to promote equality, diversity and individual rights</p><p> Be efficient, responsible and maintain a high level of personal organisation; keeping accurate and appropriate records and providing information for monitoring and evaluation as required</p><p> Participate in and actively contribute to individual supervision, training and team meetings; attend all staff meetings and organisational events as required</p><p> Work flexibly, being prepared to perform other duties commensurate with the role which may include new areas of operation following consultation</p><p> Work alongside and ensure active service user and carer participation in all aspects of work including design, implementation and monitoring of activities. </p><p>September 2016</p>
