Introductions/Approval of May, 2016 minutes </p><p>In attendance: Thais Rousseau, Jen McGaffrey, Michelle Nicholson, Jamie Yeomans, Tammi Herriman, Corrie Mervyn, Wendy Boyce, Gloria Sabourin, Laurie Linscott </p><p>Minutes from the May 2016 meeting were reviewed and approved</p><p>II. Ingham SRAC Calendar – Share monthly content for weekdays a. What Nursery Rhymes do we keep/change? b. Do we include recipes (Playdough) </p><p>It was decided each group will determine which nursery rhymes and recipes to include in their section.</p><p>III. Calendar Layout a. Top Section: Monthly Themes </p><p>Monthly themes were agreed upon. It was decided each group would go back and work on the theme for the months they were responsible. Formatting should include skills for babies, toddlers and preschoolers and a listing of resources.</p><p>January: Playing is Learning</p><p>February: Music</p><p>March: Reading</p><p>April: Science All Around</p><p>May: Social/Emotional Health</p><p>June: Outside Play</p><p>July: Nutrition/Healthy Eating</p><p>August: Physical</p><p>September: Math</p><p>October: Art/Creativity</p><p>November: Writing</p><p>December: Financial Literacy </p><p>IV. Calendar Resource Section: Monthly Bubble vs. Page in Back – decided on resource recommendation each month as part of monthly theme.</p><p>V. Calendar Parent Information Section a. School Readiness List - b. Develpmental Chart vs. Red Flags (Early On #) – determined to use developmental milestones instead of red flags c. Joint Preschool Application link - will be included in resource section and in the March calendar page encouraging families whose children will be 4 by September 1st to complete the preschool application d. Learning On the Go (include library, playgroup)- links will be included. Corrie cautioned the group to be mindful of the scope of Ingham county and if we are including links to area resources and activities that we make sure all areas are represented. </p><p>VI. Calendar Production Timelines/Distribution </p><p>1. July 29: All edits to Thais due</p><p>2. August : Graphic designer working on calendar to enter all information. Mock-up review meeting August 11. </p><p>3. September: Thais to send to calendar development group for review/final set up edits</p><p>4. October: calendar goes to print for immediate distribution</p><p>5. Distribution areas included CADL, WIC, Health Department, Playgroups, Head Start, GSRP programs, school districts</p><p>VII. Closing: Schedule meeting dates for 2016-17 school year – delayed until next meeting</p><p>Dissemination of Kindergarten Readiness Packet for upcoming year</p><p>Brainstorm of opportunities for distribution (from May SRAC meeting):</p><p>1. At the beginning of the school year for 4 year olds. This may be done at a home visit by the teacher. For programs that don’t do home visits, it could be encouraged to send in a packet for all children who are 4 years’ old. 2. At end of year home visits for children who will be transitioning to kindergarten. 3. Linked to GSC website and have that linked to districts’ home pages 4. Distribution through quality improvement specialists to all programs in the GSQ.* 5. Determine distribution method for licensed programs not in the quality rating system. 6.
