<p> Our Lady’s Catholic Primary Year: 1 Term: Spring 2 Prime Learning Challenge: Why are humans not like tigers? Breadth of Study/Basic Skills KS1 Science (Y1 Animals, including Humans) Identify and name a variety of common animals, including fish, amphibians, LC1 - What would you ask a zoo keeper? reptiles, birds and mammals; Identify and name a variety of common animals that are carnivores, herbivores LC2 - Why would it not be sensible for all animals to live and omnivores; in England? Describe and compare the structure of a variety of common animals (fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals, including pets); LC3 - How are we humans different from most animals? Identify, name, draw and label the basic parts of the human body and say which part of the human body is associated with each sense. LC4 - What do we mean by carnivore, herbivore and Geography: omnivore? Geographical skills and fieldwork: Use maps and atlases to compare countries and continents LC5 - Why do we call some animals ‘wild’? studied at this key stage Human and physical geography: Reflection: Can you create their own non-fiction book on Use basic geographical vocabulary to refer to: a ‘Visit to the Zoo’? key physical features, including: forest,mountain, sea, ocean, vegetation, season and weather .
