RFU Regulations 2016/17 – Regulation 19. B. ARU/Discipline/Governance/1-16-17 dated 16 Jun 16 – ARU Discipline Letter for Season 16/17.

1. General. All ARU affiliated clubs are requested to note the requirement to ensure that the correct rugby discipline arrangements are put in place for any overseas tour and also for any Seven-A- Side Tournament being run during the final months of Season 16/17.

2. Overseas Tours. All units/teams that are planning on an overseas rugby tour are advised that they MUST have an agreement in place with the host nation in regards to rugby discipline procedures whilst playing games in their country. If a player is subject to a Red Card during the tour, arrangements must be put in place for how that will be dealt with between the unit as an ARU affiliated club and the host nation union. This is a simple process that can/will be organised by the ARU Discipline Secretary. Other advice on tours is available in the ARU Handbook.

3. Seven-A-Side Tournaments. The organisers of any Sevens tournament must ensure that there are arrangements for dealing with disciplinary incidents during the competition (both On and Off Field). These arrangements must be placed in the tournament regulations and the arrangements for dealing with red card incidents on the day must be understood by all teams participating. Arrangements can include:

a. Anyone receiving a Red Card is suspended from playing for the remainder of the tournament and may not play in any fixture until it is dealt with by an ARU Disciplinary Panel.

b. Arrangements may be made with the ARU Discipline Office to have a Panel available during the tournament to deal with any Red Card incidents on the day.

Advice should be sought from the ARU Discipline Sec if there are any queries to this. 1 4. For advice and guidance, please contact either the undersigned or the ARU Discipline Sec, WO2 (AQMS) Stuart Scott (JHC-CapMan-ES-Gnd-WO 94391 7133) for guidance.

Regards Paul Stannett ARU Chairman of Discipline and Governance http://www.armyrugbyunion.org.uk/game-admin/governance-discipline/

2
