There are four trails along this section of Glen Canyon Regional Park:</p><p>1. THE FLUME TRAIL: EASY The old concrete flume, a remnant of the Westbank Water Users Group, now serves as one of the most attractive trails in the park. This trail is an easy enjoyable walk for most fitness levels and offers access to the Ponderosa Pine/Interior Douglas Fir Forests. Wood and tin scraps from other portions of the flume are visible from the trail. The flume trail is accessed at the end of Blue Jay Drive.</p><p>2. THE CLIFF SIDE TRAIL: MODERATE WITH SOME SLIPPERY SECTIONS The steep, fast waters of Powers Creek have carved a deep canyon through sedimentary rock exposing beautiful striations, rock formations and unusual stone columns. A thick layer of ash is evident in the sedimentary rocks. This indicates a high level of volcanic activity about 50 million years ago. Hoodoos are formed when erosion leaves large pieces of stone balancing on a tall spindle of rock. </p><p>3. BLACK CANYON TRAIL: MODERATE The trail through Black Canyon to Lambly of Bear Lake was built in 1992 by a forestry recreation crew. The trail offers a long enjoyable walk with opportunities for wildlife viewing and picnicking. Please note that the area is within the Westbank.</p><p>4. CREEKSIDE TRAIL: MODERATE Powers Creek is one of the few natural creek beds left in the Central Okanagan. There is plenty of opportunity to observe native vegetation and associated wildlife. The keen observer may even discover fossils. </p><p>HOW TO GET THERE – From Kamloops head to Kelowna on the Merritt connector and when you reach Westbank watch for the Glen Canyon signs. Take the Glenrosa Road turnoff and turn left onto Webber Road and then right on Aberdeen Road and you will see a parking area.</p>
