<p> Banyan Tree School, Lodhi Road Class II (2015-2016) Holiday Homework</p><p>Dear Children, Summer Holidays are here again. So, enjoy and have fun with your family members. We are giving you some interesting activities and assignments that you can do. Few guidelines for parents to make this summer break fruitful. “Knowledge is power” – therefore encourage your child to cultivate reading habits because it helps in vocabulary, language skills and Improves spellings. Read story books to your child because it builds reading skills and increases his/her attention span. Converse with your child in English to help him/her to be comfortable with the language. English 1. Make a handwriting notebook and do one page English handwriting every day and read. 2. Read any 2 story books from the following: a. The Jungle Book b. Panchtantra series c. The Ginger Bread Man d. Thuberlina e. Alice in Wonder Land. (i) Write 10 sentences about the story in your own words. (ii) Write 10 new words from each story and arrange them in the alphabetical order. (iii) Frame sentences with each of these twenty words. (iv) Draw your favorite character from the 2 books that you have read on a A4 sheet. 3. Read the lessons from your English Reader and take 5 words dictation daily in your rough notebook. 4. Revise all the work done till now. </p><p>EVS Delhi is the capital of India. It has some famous historical monuments, museums, gardens and other places of interest. Explore the city during your holidays. 1. Make a list of all the famous monuments and museums you have visited. 2. Make a family album of the places that you have visited in Delhi. 3. Practice to speak few lines on any one of your favourite monuments. We use many Neighbourhood Services, such as those of a post office, market and so on. On an A-4 size sheet, paste pictures of any two Neighbourhood Services which you visited and write 5-6 lines on each of them.</p><p>June 5th is World Environment Day. Write four slogans on “Save Our Environment”. Draw a picture showing, how you would want the environment around you, to look like. </p><p>MATHS 1. How many monuments did you visit? Write the number. 2. How many gates did you see in any one of your favourite monument? 3. How many pillars / minars did you see ? 4. Make 5 pictures using different types of shapes (in your scrap book) 5. Revise all the work done till now.</p><p>HINDI</p><p>1. Write 10 pages of Hindi Sulekh in three in one copy. 2. Draw, colour and decorate four different seasons with the help of cotton, glitter and waste materials. 3.Write 5 lines about your favourite season.</p>
