SPECIAL ACHIEVEMENTS: a) SETTING UP OF MODEL POLLING STATIONS:</p><p>As per the guidelines of the Election Commission, Model Polling Stations were to be set up in General Elections 2014. The discussion for making these Model Polling Stations disabled friendly was held the Asstt. Returning Officer cum SDM Sundernagar. Subsequently, mobility devices such as Wheel chairs, Crutches, Walking Sticks etc. were placed at 12 Model Polling Stations. Moreover, to assist the persons with disabilities and the senior</p><p>Page 25 of 27 citizens during the voting hours, students of DSE(VI) rendered valuable services at each booth as volunteers. The Returning Officer cum Deputy Commissioner, Mandi and Asstt. Returning Officer cum Sub Divisional Magistrate, Sundernagar appreciated the efforts of CRC, Sundernagar in setting up disabled friendly Model Polling Stations in General Elections 2014. The Assistant Returning Officer cum SDM Sundernagar also gave a Letter of Appreciation to the Centre. b) ORGANIZING JOB FAIR FOR PWD’S:</p><p>For the first time at CRC-Sundernagar, a Job Fair for PWD’s was organized on 21st May 2014 in collaboration with NGO “Sarthak Educational Trust, New Delhi”. A total number of 127 PWD’s participated in the said job fair. All the PWD’s were interviewed by HR Managers of leading companies like Competent Synergies, Vishal Mega Mart & Logic Skills Pvt. Ltd. A team from Vocational Rehabilitation Centre for the Handicapped (VRCH) Una (HP) also attended the said Job Fair. A total number of 30 PWD’s got employed in various companies. Out of these 30 selected candidates, 25 got selected in Vishal Mega Mart and 5 got selected in Competent Synergies, Chandigarh. These 5 candidates were even given the Offer Letters on the spot. c) SETTING UP OF AN INCLUSIVE SCHOOL: The Officer Incharge and Rehabilitation Officer visited Kishtwar (J&K) with regards of setting up an inclusive school for VI children w.e.f. 24th to 28th July 2014. The proposal was received from NHPC, Kishtwar. d) EXTENSION OF OPD SERVICES:</p><p>Page 26 of 27 As a step for providing more & more services to persons with disabilities, CRC Sundernagar extended its outreach activities by making the services of three professionals available at the Sub Divisional Hospital, Sundernagar.
