John Thalachira, Former Principal, Carmel & Principal, Viswadeepthi </p><p>The CBSE South Zone Judo Championship was held in Carmel Public School, Vazhakulam. All the participants reported in time. Registration and official weighing was done and the inaugural function was held at 4.00pm on Sunday 2nd September 2012. </p><p>The officiating was entrusted with the Judo Association and they were very prompt in conducting the matches in time. </p><p>All arrangements were made in time for the smooth conduct of the Championship. Even with heavy down pour, the matches were held comfortably in a special pandal measuring 10000 sq.ft. The food, accommodation, transportation, publicity and other arrangements were done by various committees. As per the plan, the valedictory function was held at 3.00 pm. On Tuesday 4th September 2012 Bhavans Vidhya Mandir, Girinagar, Kochi bagged the Overall Championship.</p><p>The participating teams, officials, the press, the T.V channels and various other agencies contributed well and the programme was a grand success.</p><p>The demonstration of Judo by the members of Sports Hostel from Sree Sankara College, Kalady during the inaugural function and again for the valedictory function was much appreciated by our guests and by the general public. </p><p>The presence of the Principals of the nearby schools were also much appreciated.</p><p>With Divine protection and with the co-operation of all, everything went on well, in time and as per the schedule.
