Colonel (Ret) Dave Hall Spent 30 Years As an Air Force Officer with World-Wide Assignments

<p>Colonel (ret) Dave Hall spent 30 years as an Air Force officer with world-wide assignments in operations, logistics, and education in a career that spanned active participation in Vietnam, the Cold War, and the Balkans. He is a frequent motivational speaker on such topics as leadership, the war fighter’s perspective on post traumatic stress disorder, and community and economic development. He is also a professional storyteller having performed hundreds of stand up comedy shows around the country as Howard True, Maine lobsterman. </p><p>A graduate of Syracuse University, he was commissioned in 1970, and during the initial portion of his career, he was a B-52 Instructor Pilot who flew 80 combat missions over Vietnam. In 1985 he became part of the initial cadre of B-1 Instructor Pilots and went on to command the 337th Bomb Squadron in Abilene Texas. In 1991 he became the Chief of Bomber Aircrew Training for Strategic Air Command. In the mid 90s he was the Vice Commander of the 28th Bomb Wing in South Dakota, and then commanded the Air Force contingent in Sarajevo, Bosnia during the Kosovo crisis. He has over 5000 flying hours in various models of the B-52 and B-1 aircraft, and continues flying general aviation aircraft today.</p><p>Following his military career, Colonel Hall led chambers of commerce and several economic development agencies in Massachusetts, New York, and Pennsylvania. He is a Certified Chamber Executive a distinction earned by fewer than 400 industry professionals over the past 30 years. He has been active in several state and national professional development organizations for the Chamber of Commerce profession.</p><p>Always visible as business leader, he has served on the Texas Substance Abuse Education Board; an American Red Cross Council; been a United Way Executive; a National Heritage Area Commissioner; a member of the South Dakota Air and Space Museum Board; served on a Community Foundation, has twice been honored as a local “citizen of the year” in Maine and Louisiana; been a humanitarian award winner, and in Alabama served as a state certified mentor for non-violent criminals.
