<p> CITY OF READING, OHIO</p><p>COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES – LEGISLATIVE SESSION</p><p>JULY 22, 2014 - 7:30PM</p><p>CALL TO ORDER</p><p>President of Council Pro Tem Bob Ashbrock called the meeting to order at 7:30PM.</p><p>INVOCATION AND PLEDGE</p><p>Mr. Ashbrock led those in attendance in prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance.</p><p>ROLL CALL</p><p>Council Members Present: Mr. Heckle, Mr. Gertz, Mr. Lynd, Mr. Albrinck, Mr. Ashbrock & Mr. Lindeman. Motion made by Mr. Albrinck, seconded by Mr. Lindeman to excuse Mr. Fischesser. Motion carried by voice vote. </p><p>Other City Officials Present: Mayor Robert “Bo” Bemmes, Treasurer Mel Gertz & Clerk of Council Carla Kacher.</p><p>AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION ODNR (Ohio Department Of Natural Resources) representative Wendi Van Buren addressed Council regarding Urban Forestry.</p><p>READING OF RESOLUTIONS </p><p>READING OF ORDINANCES </p><p>(1) AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE AUDITOR TO TRANSFER $350,000.00 FROM THE CITY EARNINGS TAX FUND TO THE GENERAL FUND, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY</p><p>Motion made by Mr. Albrinck, seconded by Mr. Heckle to suspend the rules requiring a second and third reading. Motion passed by a 6-0 roll call vote. Motion made by Mr. Lynd, seconded by Mr. Lindeman to adopt the ordinance. Motion passed by a 6-0 roll call vote.</p><p>ORDINANCE ADOPTED ORDINANCE NO. 2014-51</p><p>07/22/14 - COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES Page 1 ADJOURNMENT</p><p>There being no further business, meeting was adjourned. Council proceeded immediately into a Committee of the Whole meeting.</p><p>X______X______</p><p>CARLA KACHER BOB ASHBROCK</p><p>Clerk of Council President of Council Pro Tem</p><p>COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE - Mayor, Bo Bemmes (1) There is a “rumor” that a packing company (Dow Chemical) may be interested in purchasing PMC. (2) Discussed information in relation to ponds. (3) IGA property Owner will be in town soon (4) The Family Dollar will open in early August</p><p>- Treasurer Mel Gertz: $448,000 collected so far for the month of July. Still need $72,000 but confident we’ll hit that goal. Currently $35,000 ahead of last year.</p><p>- Tony Gertz: Attended an Advisory Group and communicated discussed topics/concerns of residents to the Mayor & all Council Members present.</p><p>- Tom Lynd: Next “Dive-In Movie Night” at the Reading Pool will be Friday, August 1, 2014.</p><p>- Denny Albrinck: Raised the question of whether or not any further discussion has been made regarding the Service Building roof repair.</p><p>X______X______</p><p>CARLA KACHER Bob Ashbrock</p><p>Clerk of Council President of Council Pro Tem</p><p>07/22/14 - COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES Page 2</p>
