<p>Success Interview Assignment Name:______</p><p>"Success is a journey not a destination”</p><p>Introduction: If, as activist and tennis great, Arthur Ashe suggests in the above quote, “success is a journey not a destination”, then one aspect of success may very well be, the way that people are able to adapt and cope in an ever-changing world. Everyone defines success in their own personal way. In order for people to develop that individual definition however, they must first consider the successes of others. In this assignment, you will take a big step in that direction.</p><p>The task:</p><p>1. First, pick your interview subject. (Busniess leader, parent, friend, teacher, coach, neighbour etc... )</p><p>2. Write a brief introduction of your interview subject: who they are, their relationship to you, and a little background information. (2-3 Sentences)</p><p>3. Create a list of questions, which are open and precise, and will provide you with the following information: The person’s personal definition of success What training did they have to get to where they are now What changes the person has experienced in their working life How the person has coped with change How these changes have influenced their career path Are they happy with what they are doing What the person has learned based on their variety of experiences and roles Advice they would give to a grade 10 student planning their future General information about their occupation – what they do, where it is, how long have they been there, other occupations they may have had</p><p>4. Interview your subject. Provide Mr. Sim with a script of the interview (written/typed,) Record the list of questions you used, as well as a summary of the information that you gained as a result of each question. </p><p>5. Brainstorm what you success means to you (Hand in your brainstorming; list, mind map, brainstorming web etc...). </p><p>6. Relective response on Success. The final portion of the assignment is a personal reflection. What do you think your life has to look life if you were to say 'I am a successful person'. Think about goals, work, family, money, possessions, values, others etc... Consider what you learned through your interview assignment, as well as our classroom activities.
