Groups who play around instead of reading will lose the privilege of using the pillows and will have to sit in an assigned location in chairs.

Vocabulary: For each vocabulary word you must do the following-  Write the word  Write the definition  Write the word in a sentence  Draw a picture showing what the word means  Bonus (for those who are aiming for a 4): Write a synonym and an antonym for each word that has one (not all words do, use a thesaurus to look them up).

Spelling: Each week you have three spelling pages in your spelling book to complete.

Story Board: There are two different storyboards, one for fiction stories and one for nonfiction stories. They both begin the same way. See the “Storyboards” paper for instructions on how to make each kind of storyboard. Remember, these do take a long time to make so use your time wisely!

Writing Prompt: The writing prompt will be on the board. Copy the prompt on the top of your paper. Then use about 10-15 minutes to brainstorm ideas for your writing. Do not use the same kind of brainstorm two weeks in a row. Use the “Brainstorming” paper for ideas on different ways to brainstorm.

Assessment: The assessment has 18 multiple choice questions about the vocabulary and the story for the week. It also has 2 short answer questions which should be answered with complete sentences. You may use your book to answer these questions. It is not cheating! I am checking your reading comprehension (how much you understand) not how much you memorized. The spelling test is a memory test. This test is not.
