<p> The 2017 2nd Quarter Debate Tournament at East Los Angeles College</p><p>Greetings to all!</p><p>On Saturday, December 9th, East Los Angeles College will be hosting the second debate tournament of the 2017-2018 school year, and we hope that your school or organization will be joining us.</p><p>Entries:</p><p>Entries are due on 12/05/17. You may register your school at: www.forensicstournament.net/SCJFL2ndQuarterDebate/17</p><p>ANY DROPS/CANCELLATIONS MUST BE MADE BY: 7 pm - 12/07/17</p><p>Events: Congress Bills will be posted on registration website.</p><p>Public Forum Resolved: NCAA student athletes ought to be recognized as employees under the Fair Labor Standards Act. LD Resolved: Wealthy nations have an obligation to provide development assistance to other nations. Policy Resolved: The United States federal government should substantially increase its funding and/or regulation of elementary and/or secondary education in the United States.</p><p>Debate Schedule: 8:00 - Round 1 10:00 - Round 2 12:00 - Lunch 12:30 - Round 3 2:30 - Round 4 4:30 - Elimination Prelim 5 5:30 Elimination Prelim 6 7:00 Awards</p><p>Congress Schedule: 8:00 - Round 1 10:00 - Round 2 12:00 - Lunch 12:30 - Round 3 2:30 - Final Round (if needed) 4 Judging Requirements:</p><p>Each school must provide 1 judge for every 4 students. Hired judges are $100 per judge, and must be requested via email ([email protected]) and subject to availability.
