Make a ten to add.</p><p>Grammar: Using adjectives.</p><p>Writing: TIDE writing (topic sentence, 3 important details, and ending sentence); Use adjectives to expand sentences. We say them immediately. know, right, put, too, got, take, where, here, saw, call</p><p>Homework RETURN THE BOOK or Poetry Folder EVERY DAY </p><p>What do I do when I come to a word I do not understand? 1. Check the picture. Look at the first letter. Get your mouth ready with the first sound. 2. Read on to the period and then go back to the beginning of that sentence and read. 3. Tap and zip short words. Stretch out the sounds in longer words. 4. Look for word chunks (parts of words…th, ch, ing, an, it etc.). 5. Ask: does this word look right, sound right, and make sense?</p><p>Ways to Increase comprehension as your child reads: 1. Take a “picture walk” before you start reading. 2. Stop as you read and ask who or what just happened in the story 3. Retell the story: Who is in the story (characters)? 4. Retell the story: Where does the story take place (setting)? 5. Retell the Story: What events happened in order? 6. What is your favorite part and why? 7. What connection can you make with this book?
