<p> Franklin Regional Middle School PTO Meeting Minutes September 16, 2015 9:30 AM Cafeteria (Not Approved)</p><p>Members Present: Sally Yemc, Wendy Lindeman, Amy Orzechowski, Susanna Choi, Andrew Leviski, Frankie Smith, Nancy Moser, Amy Tarentini, Marcy Zeyzus, Karen Tevis, Paula Fetsko, Chris Sadoski, Jennifer Boyer, Jill Hopkins, Meg Keim</p><p>I. Welcome and Introduction of Members present (Sally Yemc)</p><p>II. Administrative Team Report (Mr. Leviski) A. Start of school year has gone smoothly, schedules were done over the summer, requests were taken into account as much as possible B. Building renovations: new lighting throughout, new tile in cafeteria, office updates, locker room updates, etc. C. Enrollment dropped: 850 last year, 800 this year, expect another decrease next year to 750 D. Security updates: new security system, swipe driver’s license at greeter’s desk, new security cameras, card readers for doors E. New phone system F. New PA system G. Technology updates H. Professional development for faculty re. assessment I. Jennifer DiFulvio will return in November; interim Assistant Principal is Carla Roland (FRHS English teacher). J. PSSA scores will be mailed home next week- cannot compare last year’s scores to previous scores as the test has changed – questions more in depth. Growth is more important than actual scores. K. E-school log-on information letter will go home with PSSA scores. L. Please call Mr. Leviski with any questions; can arrange meeting as well</p><p>III. Secretary’s Report (Susanna Choi) A. May 2015 Meeting Minutes: motion to approve Frankie Smith, second Jennifer Boyer</p><p>IV. Treasurer’s Report (Amy Orzechowski) A. 2015-16 Budget: motion to approve Nancy Moser; all voted to approve 1. Field trip discussion – disparity of field trips among houses. Mr. Leviski is addressing. 2. Magazine sale has decreased every year, hope more support this year, good incentives. 3. Box Tops –Paula will look into incentives, competitions</p><p>V. Vice President Report (Wendy Lindeman) A. Assemblies 1. Phillip Little (Attorney General’s office) on Cyber Bullying and Cyber Safety- October 26 -Wendy will ask for information to send home so parents can follow up. 2. Knights in the Classroom- will be arranged</p><p>VI. Committee Reports A. Book Fair (Sally Yemc for Kris Snow and Kate Sell) - scheduled for Feb 9-12 B. Publicity/Bulletin Board (Sally Yemc for DJ Davis) 1. Bulletin board in cafeteria- boxtops information and pictures of students from activities 2. Submit pictures to DJ C. Clearances (Sally Yemc for Barb Henry) 1. Remain active for 5 years 2. Free for volunteers except for fingerprints D. Clerical- nothing to report E. Coffee Sale (Frankie Smith) 1. 10/6-23, delivery by Thanksgiving 2. “Building New Hope” organization -fair trade coffee, proceeds help plantation in Nicaragua 3. make great Christmas gifts! F. Hospitality & Welcoming (Chris Slatosky) – Open Houses went well G. Magazine Fundraiser (Jennifer Boyer) 1. kick off assemblies are tomorrow, 3 presentations 2. 2 dates to turn in orders 3. great incentives H. Premium Programs (Paula Fetsko) 1. Box Tops - November 1 and March 1 due dates, check expiration dates, incentives 2. Target, Giant Eagle – nothing to report I. Social: (Sally Yemc for Laura Pasqualini) 1. Need another chair! 2. 6th grade activity night went well! 3. Thank you to chaperones for 6th grade activity night : Sally Yemc, Wendy Lindeman, Amy Orzechowski, Andrea Evancho, Shelly Traphagen, Amy Tarantini, Marilynn Todd, Kristie Rodgers, Jill Hopkins, Lisa Hickey, Christina Marcus, Kim Pekarcik J. Volley Ball Tournament - nothing to report K. Website (Sally Yemc for Jenna Heberle)- contact Jenna to post notices</p><p>VII. New Business A. September School Board Meeting- did not attend B. Backpack Program (Meg Keim) 1. students are enrolled through school counselors, estimate 15 children to start 2. students are given easy to prepare food for the weekend 3. need donations – food and monetary, approximately $25 per month per pack 4. MS students will shop and pack 5. information will be in eavesdropper, newspaper article, websites</p><p>C. Announcements: 1. physicals for winter sports: 10/21, 3-4:30, $20, sign up ahead of time , link on MS website 2. dates for PSSA’s: April 2016 3. Keystone testing: 3rd week in May 2016</p><p>VIII.
