Giving Notice

VIMARHEM AB

Boskola 3 (3) Moving out

04/10/2016 Giving notice

If you want to move out of your apartment, sign your name in the appropriate section of your tenancy agreement and give it to us.

The notice period is three full calendar months. This means that if you give notice on your apartment during January, you will have to pay your rent up to and including April.

Do not give notice on your apartment until you have somewhere else to live. If you are in our housing queue and applying for another apartment, you cannot be certain of getting an apartment before your notice period expires.

04/10/2016 Cleaning

It is important that you clean the apartment thoroughly before moving out.

You will be given cleaning instructions when you give notice on the apartment. This contains advice on what to remember when doing your final cleaning. Everywhere must be clean; behind the cooker and in the oven, in the fan, under the bathtub, between the windows (if they can be opened separately), skirting boards – you must clean every bit of the apartment.

Do not forget the balcony, terrace, and any garage or storeroom. These must also be emptied and cleaned.

If the apartment is not properly cleaned, you will receive a bill from Vimarhem AB. A poorly cleaned three-room apartment with a kitchen currently costs around SEK 4,500, while a very dirty apartment will cost even more.

04/10/2016 Inspection

Your apartment will be inspected after you have given notice.

The final inspection is carried out once the apartment is empty and has been cleaned, not forgetting the balcony, terrace, and any garage or storeroom.

As the tenant, you should be present at the inspection. Contact our inspector in advance to book an inspection.

During the inspection, a report is made of the condition of the apartment. You do not have to pay for normal wear and tear, but you will receive a bill from Vimarhem AB for any excessive wear or damage.

04/10/2016 Keys

When you move out, you must return all keys you have been issued. This means the three keys you were given on moving in and any additional keys you may have ordered.

If we do not receive all the keys, we will have to change the locks. The next tenant has to know that nobody else has keys to their apartment. As the tenant, you will have to pay for the locks to be changed.

The keys must be returned no later than 12 noon on the day you move out. If this is a public holiday, you must return the keys by 12 noon on the next working day.

04/10/2016 Exchanging your apartment

You must register to join our housing queue again and your application will be processed exactly as it was the first time you moved in with us.

If you want to exchange your apartment within Vimarhem AB, you must have had a primary tenancy agreement for your current residence for at least 12 months.

Exemptions from this rule can be made only in exceptional circumstances.

We will make a preliminary inspection of the apartment you have been living in before a new tenancy agreement can be approved. You must have no rent arrears when exchanging your apartment.

When exchanging your apartment, as our tenant you are subject to a notice period in line with the Swedish Tenancy Act, in other words three full calendar months. This may mean you have to pay rent twice when exchanging your apartment.

04/10/2016 04/10/2016
