North Carolina Occupational Safety and Health Education & Research Center University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill

INSTITUTE PRETEST

The purpose of this pretest is to determine the level of your math skills and readiness status to use a scientific calculator accurately. You should be able to complete the following types of problems before you attend institute classes that requires you to bring a scientific calculator and to be familiar with its use.

You may complete this pretest at your leisure, using reference books and a calculator. For those of you who have difficulty with this pre test, please consider attending Math Review and Use of Scientific Calculator on the Sunday prior to the course from 2:00-4:00 PM at the meeting site.

Dr. Nelson W. Couch will guide you through the review on Sunday before you are required to use these techniques in your class at the institute. Be sure to bring a scientific calculator. If you need to purchase one, the Texas Instruments TI- 30Xa calculator (click here for picture) will be the calculator used during these sessions.

4005 1.
