Show fiction and non-fiction books about penguins. Ask “Which type of book would be good to read for information?” Show spine with Dewey number of Penguin Chick or something similar. Discuss facts that students know about penguins. Record. Read. Discuss and record new facts. Vocabulary: Brood patch Rookery Tobogganing Food – fish, squid, krill</p><p>Evaluation: Students can distinguish the purpose of non-fiction books and record facts from book. </p>
