<p> Job Description</p><p>Job Title: Digital Processing Coordinator Submit Resume to: [email protected]</p><p>SUMMARY Responsible for the scheduling, processing, and publishing of SPE’s Proceeding both in digital and CD-ROM formats for meetings. Coordinates the loading and updating of technical documents to the SPE paper repository system. Coordinates and assists with SPE’s translation efforts. Provides support, as needed, as well as back-up services for the Content Processing Manager.</p><p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.  Coordinates the scheduling, conversion, uploading, and updating of technical documents to the SPE paper repository system.  Consults with other departments about changing technologies that effect the digital paper processing team.  Works with other staff and contractors to ensure technical papers are completed and available in OnePetro by scheduled deadlines.  Perform thorough quality checks of technical paper metadata to ensure conformity to SPE standards.  Convert and/or update technical documents using Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat applications.  Works with conference programming unit to set manuscript deadlines and create author kits.  Coordinates schedules and dates with other SPE offices and departments for Proceedings production.  Works with vendors when outsourcing Proceedings production.  Works internally with Facilities department to produce in-house Proceedings.  Electronic mastering of Proceedings, with knowledge of file structure and linking.  Processes request by authors for corrections and uploading of revised papers  Layout of artwork for print and electronic use.  Prepares invoices for Proceedings related projects and materials.  Troubleshooting and correction of online documents and support for digitally published materials. Works with other departments and provides customer service when problems arise.  Assists with SPE’s ongoing translation efforts for SPE content. This includes:  Working with the SPE Volunteer system to identify and set up new volunteers in Google Translator Toolkit  Load and track SPE content being translated via Google Translator ToolKit  Monitor current translation efforts and reassign volunteers if needed  Finalize successfully completed translated works into their correct location with the appropriate metadata.  Track volunteers who have completed translation assignments back in the volunteer system with the appropriate point values.  Other various duties as may be assigned. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES  Extensive knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite of Products  Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of Products  HTML knowledge and working knowledge of the printing process a plus  Person should be detail-oriented with the ability to work well under pressure in a deadline driven-environment.</p><p>Other Qualifications and Competencies that are important to success at SPE include:  Attention to Detail  Building Collaborative Relationships  Customer/Member Relations  Flexibility and Adaptability  Fostering Teamwork  Initiative  Planning & Organizing/Time Management  Problem Solving  Results Orientation</p><p>EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Minimum high school degree and 5 year’s related experience.</p><p>LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Important to have good communication skills. </p><p>MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.</p><p>REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.</p><p>PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
