<p>Article I Section 1- The power to make laws is given to Congress- The House of Representatives and the Senate.</p><p>Article I Section 2- House of Representatives- Chosen every two years. Must be at least 25. Must be 7 years a citizen, and a citizen of the state you are running to represent. One rep for every 30,000 citizens; all states guaranteed one rep. Census every 10 years to determine population. The House has the sole power to impeach. They choose their own leaders including the most powerful member- the Speaker of the House.</p><p>Article I Section 3- The Senate! Chosen every 6 years. 1/3 reelected every 2 years. Each state gets 2 senators. Each Senator gets one vote. Must be at least 30 years old, live in the state they represent, and be a citizen for 9 years. The President of the Senate is the VP of the US. He can only vote in a tie situation. Since the VP can’t vote and is often not present, the Senate chooses a President Pro Tempore to act in his place. The Senate has the sole power to try impeachments. </p><p>Article I Section 4- Election laws. States make laws about the times and dates of elections. They must meet once a year starting at noon on January 3rd.</p>
