ISBN 978-0-07-154588-4.  Students may also refer to the following Web sites for any additional course information and resources: Instructor’s course site: http://gozips.uakron.edu/~damson/sa2.html Springboard site for assignment submissions: http://springboard.uakron.edu</p><p>PRE-REQUISITES 2440: 338 Systems Administration I</p><p>COURSE DESCRIPTION This course provides students with the necessary knowledge and skills to perform advanced system administration tasks on a network operating system.</p><p>COURSE OBJECTIVES Students must be able to:  Set up event logging  Manage logical volumes  Redirect core dumps  Manage network file systems  Manage specialized file systems  Use administrative tools  Give access to administrative tools to special users  Setup NIS  Install the operating system remotely</p><p>STUDENT ACTIVITIES/INSTRUCTIONAL STRATEGIES  Assignments: There will be several assignments due at specific dates.  Tests: There will be two tests in the class.  Examinations: There will be a midterm exam and a final exam.  Late assignments are discouraged and may attract point deductions or may not be accepted for grading.  No incomplete grades will be given in this class.  Poor attendance will result in a lower grade. If a student has a genuine reason for being late or absent, he/she is expected to notify the instructor ahead of time (before the date of absence or lateness).
