<p> Collaborative Project: Abnormal Psychology</p><p>In order to better understand psychological disorders, your group will investigate ONE of the six major types of psychological disorders:</p><p>Anxiety Disorders Dissociative Disorders Somatoform Disorders Mood Disorders Schizophrenia Personality Disorders</p><p>Using chapters 18 & 19 (and the in-class PowerPoint) as starting points, you will define the disorder type, explain the specific individual disorders of that type, describe physical/cognitive manifestations, and recommend therapeutic/medication options.</p><p>You will have the opportunity to research your topic in the library. It is also expected that your group will work together outside of class.</p><p>Due Dates: Tues. – 1/15 - Wed. – 1/16</p><p>Project Worth: 100 points</p><p>In order to successfully complete this project, you will produce a:</p><p> Presentation – Describe Symptoms, Explain sources of the illness, recommend treatment. Presentation should be no more than 5-7 minutes. You can use visuals such as PowerPoint/poster/ etc. Some type of handout should be included (40 points).  Case Study – A real-world account of someone who had the disorders – this can be something you read to the class, an article that the class reads, or a video or movie clip (25 points).  Skit – Demonstrates symptoms of the disorder/possible treatment options/how the disorder may be viewed by the general public. Skit should be about 5 minutes long. (25 points).  Bibliography – (minimum 5 sources, with no more than 2 websites). (10 points)</p><p>Bonus Opportunity – An additional 10-15 points for extra creativity (For example, an appropriate movie clip or a collage poster!)</p>
