Using the CNC Shark S Basic Control Panel

Using the CNC Shark’s Basic Control Panel

Instruction booklet USING THE CNC SHARK TO CUT OUT THE DESIGN

Step One: On the desk top open the CNC Shark program Icon shown here.

Shortcut to CNC Shark Basic Control Panel.exe.lnk

When it opens a page like the one below will appear. Make sure the green Run from SD CARD tab is a bright green if it is not unplug the USB cable and plug it back in this will reset the machine and computer link also make sure to turn on the power strip.

Step Two: Click on the tab that says JOG then select the FAST button on the right side. These three buttons control the speed of the machine while you are moving to the middle of your board. Step Three: Using the X,Y and Z buttons move the machine bit to the center of your board as you move the machine the numbers under the PART COORDINATES change. When you get close to your boards center set the speed to slow this will make it easier to line up the point of the bit to the center of your board. The last thing to do on centering is to set the height which is the Z. You will need to put a sheet of paper under the bit and start lowering the bit down, when you can feel the bit touching the paper it is at the right height.

Once you have the machine centered on your board click the XYZ button, when you do this will set the numbers to zero. When you do this it tells the computer that this point is home now the computer has a reference to work from and return to. You must do this step or the program will not work correctly. Step Four: Click on the G-CODE tab and make sure the green RUN from SD CARD button is bright green.

Click on the LOAD G CODE button. After you click on the LOAD G CODE button the screen below will appear. Select the design you created and saved in the V-CARVE program. Make sure it is a tap file or your design will not convert to G-CODE. Select OPEN the program now starts converting your design to G-CODE at this time the green RUN from SD CARD button will fade in color and look like the next picture.

As long as the button stays a dull green it is still righting converting the program do not try to run the machine at this time. When the button turns bright green again it has finished converting the program and the machine is now ready to be started. You must first turn on the router otherwise you could break the machine. Once you have the router on click on the RUN from SD CARD button and the machine will begin to cut your design. If for any reason there is a problem immediately click on the red E-STOP then shut the power to the router off. You must do it in this order to avoid damaging the machine. Once the design is cut shut the router off, go back to JOG and move the machine back toward the wall. Remove your board and clean the area up and delete all of your design icons from the desktop.
