<p> DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE, FOOD & THE MARINE ER 83 BOVINE TB AND BRUCELLOSIS ERADICATION SCHEMES </p><p>IMPORTANT DOCUMENT - DAIRY HERDOWNERS </p><p>NOTE: Failure to return this form prior to the commencement of any herd test* may have implications for the amount of compensation payable </p><p>PURPOSE: DECLARATION OF BEEF BREED SUCKLER COWS IN DAIRY HERDS TO BE EXCLUDED FROM THE CALCULATION OF NOTIONAL MILK YIELD FOR DETERMINATION OF COMPENSATION UNDER THE ERAD SCHEMES IN THE EVENT OF A DISEASE BREAKDOWN (i) The onus is on a herdowner to acquire a declaration form and to submit it to the Regional Veterinary Office (RVO).</p><p>(ii) A declaration must be received at the RVO prior to the commencement date of any test, including a private test. If sent by post, a certificate of posting should be retained.</p><p>(iii) Declarations received at the RVO on or after any test commencement date are deemed inadmissible.</p><p>(iv) A declaration is optional and may be submitted only in respect of tagged beef breed suckler cows in clear herds.</p><p>(v) A false declaration will result in disqualification for compensation in respect of all dairy cow/in-calf heifer reactors. Note: (a) Any herd producing milk for sale is designated a dairy herd, notwithstanding that sucklers may be present. (b) A suckler cow cannot be declared in two dairy herds in a 12 month period. </p><p>*Form ER83 cannot be submitted if the herd has already disclosed reactors in a current breakdown e.g. before a reactor retest. I request that these cows be excluded from the calculation of the notional milk yield of my dairy cow herd.
