Journal of Vocational Rehabilitation 16(3): 179-187.</p><p>Keywords: Transition to postsecondary education, career education</p><p>Annotation: This paper describes the development and the implementation results of the High School High Tech (HSHT) program that was experimented in some high schools in Iowa. The HSHT program suggests seven steps to enhance the education program in high schools for students with mild disabilities, to enable them to enter postsecondary education programs and take up successful high tech careers. The HSHT program addresses the problems identified in the National Longitudinal Transition Study (NLTS) regarding state of disabled students in higher education and various job sectors, and the recommendations suggested therein. This paper discusses the results of implementing the HSHT program over three years and also suggests three recommendations for strengthening the program.</p>
