<p> Expression of interest Relieving AEO - Coffs Harbour Public School</p><p>Expressions of interest are being called to fill the following position: Position: Relieving Aboriginal Education Officer Location: Coffs Harbour Public School Period: To commence 22 August 2016 relieving in the position until 11 August 2017.</p><p>Position Information: Coffs Harbour Public School is situated in the heart of Coffs Harbour and has an enrolment of 432 students, which includes 95 Aboriginal students.</p><p>Selection Criteria: 1. Aboriginality; 2. understanding of the needs of Aboriginal students; 3. knowledge of Aboriginal communities and cultures; 4. effective communication skills; 5. ability to interact with Aboriginal students and parents; and 6. knowledge of the local Aboriginal community.</p><p>Statement of Duties Working with teachers:  to assist Aboriginal students in all school activities including excursions  to discuss with Aboriginal parents the educational progress of their children  to identify and develop resources to support the learning outcomes of Aboriginal students  to assist in the development and implementation of personalised learning plans for Aboriginal students  to support Aboriginal cultural awareness for all students with particular reference to Aboriginal students  to help maintain effective relationships between Aboriginal parents, the Aboriginal community and school staff. Working as part of a school team to support students:  in relation to their school participation and programs  in relation to their attendance and retention Liaising with the Principal and staff:  on protocols for interacting with the Aboriginal community in relation to staff and Aboriginal students in the school and Aboriginal education activities.</p><p>Other Duties Performing other related duties as required by the Principal.</p><p>Enquiries to: Leonie Buehler, Principal, Coffs Harbour Public School.
