<p> GERARD A. MCENERNEY</p><p>Assistant Vice President and Executive Director Staten Island Campus St. John’s University New York, New York</p><p>Mr. Gerard A. McEnerney is the Assistant Vice President and Executive Director of the Staten Island Campus of St. John’s University. He is responsible for emergency management for the entire University which is comprised of five campuses: Queens; Staten Island; Manhattan; Oakdale, Long Island; and Rome, Italy. A sixth campus is scheduled to open in Paris, France, in the fall of 2008. Mr. McEnerney is responsible for developing and implementing the University Emergency Management Plan, and designing emergency preparedness exercises and the Plan’s yearly review and update.</p><p>In November of 2007, Mr. McEnerney retired as a Colonel from the U.S. Army Reserve, bringing to an end a 35-year military career which included 15 years of active duty. During the last 10 years of his military career, he was assigned to the Department of Defense’s Emergency Preparedness Liaison Program which was part of the Defense Support to Civil Authority mission. He initially served as the Senior Army State Emergency Preparedness Officer for the State of New Jersey. He was later assigned as the Senior Army Regional Emergency Preparedness Liaison Officer (REPLO) for Region II of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). Mr. McEnerney was subsequently appointed the Chief REPLO assuming the position as the principal officer in the multi-military service REPLO program for FEMA Region II. He was activated for numerous hurricanes and National Special Security Events such as the Republican National Convention and the recent United Nations General Assembly. He was also activated and was a responder to the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. Upon his retirement from military service, Mr. McEnerney was awarded the Legion of Merit.</p><p>Mr. McEnerney holds a B.A. from Cathedral College; an M.S. in educational counseling from Long Island University (LIU); and an M.S. in criminal justice also from LIU. He is a graduate of the U.S. Air Force War College and the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College.</p><p>April 22, 2008</p>
