Prepare for academic life after high school.</p><p>Materials: Palmer and Colton - History of the Modern World ABC-CLIO website Numerous handouts notebook and writing utensil</p><p>Grades: Grades will be given in the following percentages; Tests and quizzes (Summative), Homework/Classwork (Formative). Each grade will be given on a traditional point system.</p><p>Blackboard: All students will be enrolled in Blackboard, which can be accessed from the home page of the computers in the school. Outside of school Blackboard can be accessed online at the district website www.aurora- schools.org. Each day there will be a summary of what was done in class that day, as well as assignments and discussions. It is the student’s responsibility to check Blackboard if they are absent. If a test or quiz has been posted students who are absent are still responsible for taking the quiz or test the next class period.</p><p>Rules: 1. Respect - Must be shown at all times for everyone. That means letting people give their opinions and disagreeing politely, not interrupting, not talking when someone else is talking, not sleeping, and not doing other classes homework (especially math!). 2. Electronic devices (cd players, phones, etc.) - disappear upon entering class or they are mine for the remainder of the day. 3. Tardiness – Unexcused tardies will result in missed grades. Continuous tardies will result in a referral. 4. Absences - must be excused and all missed work is your responsibility. You will be given the same amount of time as the class for assignments. Check the Blackboard website to find assignments, or call someone. Quizzes and tests must be made-up within three days of your return or they are recorded as a zero. 5. Late Work - Is not accepted, period!</p>
