<p>Turning in Assignments/Late Work</p><p>My policy on late work is that it receives a 0. Some students don't believe me, think it doesn't apply to them, or isn't in force at the end of the semester if they want to turn in earlier assignments because they want a higher grade. You know the policy at the start of the semester and it remains the policy throughout the semester. Be sure to plan your time accordingly and don't wait until the last minute to look at an assignment. Some take more time than others. I would suggest that you look at the next upcoming assignment just after turning in an assignment. This will help you gauge how much time you need to allow to get it done on time and done well. </p><p>As assignments must be submitted on time, sometimes Blackboard can be recalcitrant. If you cannot attach an assignment in the Drop Box, send it to my personal e-mail ([email protected]) -- see FAQ #7. Some students will tell me long after an assignment is due that they couldn't attach it & then will finally send it in 3 days late. Doesn't fly & isn't fair to the other students who get their work in on time. So, if you are having trouble, don't waste a lot of time, just send it via e-mail per #7.</p><p>Also, do not assume you know when an assignment is due. I get some of the craziest excuses -- “I thought assignments were due every other week in this class.” One of my favorites -- “I thought this assignment was due later in the week.” This just doesn’t make sense as assignments are always due on the same day of the week except for the Student Introduction in some classes.</p><p>Remember, if you miss 3 assignments or submit assignments late and have a total of 3 unsubmitted or late assignments, you will be dropped from the class with a WF.
