There is no plan for consolidation of small schools--schools that are “isolated” will not be affected because it is not cost effective to bus children to other sites. He recognizes that the District will have to assist small schools with providing some “essential” services because Community-Based budgeting will not provide these schools with enough revenue for everything. He will recommend shortening the school year by 4-5 days next year to save money. Schools will get back a “small, very small %” of 4242 (leasing and filming) funds. He has still not decided whether there will be 8, 4 or no local districts next year. In 3 weeks he will make his budget recommendations to the Board. Lead Poisoning-Info was boxed to you.
