<p> William Henry Neely, 70, for many years a blacksmith, died at 2:45 p. m. last Wednesday at his home, 220 Redding avenue, Elkhart, after a long period of failing health. He was bedfast for one week. The body was returned to the home from the Charles Walley chapel Friday morning, then taken back to the chapel for the funeral service at 3 p. m. Burial was in the Prairie Street cemetery. The Rev. D. Paul Huffman of Zion Mennonite Brethren officiated. Mr. Neely, who was the son of James and Fannie (Weaver) Neely, was born Nov. 12, 1869, near Foraker, Ind. He operated a blacksmith shop in Nappanee for a quarter century before going to Elkhart 25 years ago and buying the J. D. Braden blacksmith shop on West Jackson boulevard. Later he conducted the I-XL blacksmith shop on East Franklin street, and in recent years, prior to retirement two years ago he was employed in the city street department, Elkhart. His marriage to Frances Ida McClintic of Wakarusa, took place May 27, 1888. He survives with the following children: Mrs. L. J. (Bess) Turner of Elkhart, Merrill F. Neely of Dunlap and Ward T. Neely and Mrs. Paul (Ruth) Kegg, both of Elkhart. There are six grandchildren; two brothers, Peter and Harvey Neely of Chicago; two sisters, Mrs. Essie Bigler of Los Angeles, Mrs. Ralph Connin of Delta, O., and a half-sister, Mrs. Laura Leisk of Lakewood, O.</p><p>11-16-1939</p>
