District Councillors report June 2016

On April 22nd I met Gavin Wood from Network Rail at the goods yard and although he said he could not see Network Rail creating a car park he would work out some figures for a lease on the site so that perhaps the County Council or Parish Council could be interested or maybe a private individual could operate this car park as a venture. Initial figures are a rent of £12000 + vat but I would expect this to be a figure to be negotiable figure, so now what happens next? Who is interested in taking this any further?

Bannold Road

The broken drain cover has now been replaced.

Post Box

The saga continues but the Waddelow Road/Denson Close area is looking good and below is the latest communication from Royal Mail.

Hello Peter – I am pushing for this one – hopefully should be done in next couple of weeks – I will update you once complete

Regards

Kishor Rathod Collections Planning Manager PE/CB

Royal Mail - East Region

White Lines

Pleased to say the white lines at Bannold Road and Denny End Road junction have been repainted at last, they probably got fed up with me complaining about this.

Drains

The drains in Station Road from the Salvation Army up to the Church corner were jetted on the 16th May but I have not received the full report yet but an initial report was that there was a lot of general rubbish in the drains and some tree roots but it seems that enough has been done to get the drains flowing freely again. I have had phone calls about other streets where the drains couldn’t cope with the rain so I will be speaking to County Council again as obviously more drains need jetting out.
