<p> WCE 5th Grade Choir</p><p>Parent Information Letter & Permission Form</p><p>**RETURN: no later than September 23, 2016**</p><p>First Full Choir Rehearsal: September 27 in the music room</p><p>Dear 5th grade Parents,</p><p>Willow Creek’s Rockin’ Cardinal Choir includes singing, acting, dancing, stage production, and team spirit!! The students will learn how to run the entire show on their own! Please note: this is a non-auditioned choir. Membership is accepted once grades and conduct have been reviewed (see Expectations below).</p><p>The Choir prepares two shows each year: a holiday show and a spring show. We will perform for our school, families, area retirement centers and also at the Fine Arts Festival. Additionally, we will have a spring Field Trip to tour Theater Under the Stars.</p><p>Rehearsal Information:</p><p>1) The Choir meets every Tuesday, beginning September 27.</p><p>2) Rehearsals are from 3:15-4:10 in the music room.</p><p>3) We will have 2 extra rehearsals, both of them on Thursdays—December 1 & 8.</p><p>4) We will have a total of 12 rehearsals before our show on December 12. Therefore, attendance is VERY important.</p><p>5) Students are dismissed from rehearsal through the FRONT doors of the school. Attire:</p><p>The choir has a t-shirt that is worm when performing for the community & for our field trips. Cost varies but is usually around $15. More information to come.</p><p>Additional Questions you may have:</p><p>1) Are there costs for the field trips? Yes. $5.00 for the holiday field trip and between $11-15 for the trip to Theater Under the Stars.</p><p>2) Can Safety Patrol members be a choir member? Yes. They join rehearsal immediately following their afternoon duties.</p><p>3) How does my child join? Complete the attached permission form & return no later than September 23, 2016. No forms will be accepted after Sept. 23</p><p>4) Are parent volunteers needed? YES! I will be contacting you once we get going. Most of the time I need help with choir t-shirt distribution, some of the costumes, props, and dancing.</p><p>Expectations:</p><p>Humble ISD guidelines require children who participate in extra-curricular activities must maintain grades and conduct in keeping with district standards:</p><p>1. Students will maintain their assignments and have no academic grade lower than a 70 in any subject.</p><p>2. Students shall maintain a good attitude in all school areas and have no conduct grade lower than an “S” in any subject.</p><p>3. Students shall be present for all rehearsals and all performances (illness and family emergency excused). Please provide a reason for absence by phone, email or note.</p><p>4.
