<p> Texas A&M System-Wide Classification Description</p><p>Classification Title Code/Title: 4384/ Security Lieutenant</p><p>Exempt Status: Non-exempt</p><p>Pay Grade: 8</p><p>Job Summary: </p><p>The Security Lieutenant, under direction, presents a positive image of a concerned and capable security professional through bearing, demeanor and presence as duties are performed throughout campus in a highly visible manner. Supervises and coordinates activities of Security Sergeants and Security Officers.</p><p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</p><p> Supervises and coordinates activities of Security Sergeants and Security Officers. Observes security officers in the performances of their duties. Reviews other activities, enforces efficient performance as required. Inspects uniforms and equipment. Prepares and completes comprehensive monthly reports and statistics. Supervises security officers on overtime assignments. Takes care of complaints against other security officers. Coordinates licensing requirements of armed security personnel assigned to the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum.</p><p> Patrols residence halls and fill other assignments when understaffed. Performs directed patrols on a daily basis.</p><p> Orientates and trains new security officers in security procedures. Schedules training of subordinates.</p><p> Provides support at special events, e.g. football games, yell practice.</p><p>This document represents the major duties, responsibilities, and authorities of this job, and is not intended to be a complete list of all tasks and functions. Other duties may be assigned.</p><p>Additional Responsibilities</p><p>Minimum Requirements</p><p>Education – High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.</p><p>Experience – Attainment of the Security Sergeant rank with a minimum of 18 months total service in the Security Officer Program or other comparable full-time employment.</p><p>Knowledge, Skills, Abilities</p><p>Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Customer service skills. Ability to communicate effectively with all segments of the campus population.</p><p>Registration, Certification, or Licensure </p><p>Valid Class "C" Texas Driver's License within 30 days of employment.
