Mobberly, Longview, Student Center 3rd Floor Little Theater Enter Campus at sign, Then at first stop sign turn right, travel past the library on left, then watch for Skipper Dining Hall parking lot on left. The Student Center is nearby - a building with tall windows all around it.</p><p>Speaker: Mr. Victor Y. Matthews, AWS President</p><p>Topic: Career Opportunities in the Welding Industry</p><p>On January 1, 2009 Mr. Matthews became president of the American Welding Society which has close to 55,000 members world wide. The East Texas Section is one of more than 120 sections in the United States and in some foreign countries, and is in District 17 of the 22 districts in the country.</p><p>Mr. Matthews is an AWS Distinguished Member and past District 10 Director before being elected as President. He has worked for the Lincoln Electric Company since 1963 where he currently is responsible for consumables, Gas Tungsten Arc and Shielded Metal Arc Welding machines, Plasma Arc Cutting machines, Inverters under 300 amps and is liaison to the Italian subsidiaries. He has been a member of the Cleveland AWS Section for 39 years.</p><p>So come and be with us to give our AWS National President a warm East Texas welcome. </p>
