Anesthetic used for the procedure may cause nausea and/or vomiting, this is normal, but please follow feeding instructions below to help limit symptoms. Please call the clinic if you have any questions or concerns. INCISION CARE: Check Incision once or twice daily for swelling, redness or discharge. Make sure your pet does NOT LICK or CHEW incision. *If your pet licks or chews at the incision, you will need to put an Elizabethan collar on him/her. We sell them at our clinic or you can get one at Petco. Keep an Elizabethan collar on your pet at all times for ______days. DIET: Fast until 9pm tonight, then feed 1/3 the normal amount of food. Feed as usual tomorrow. EXERCISE: Restrict activity, keep indoors and take out on a leash only for a few days. Strict confinement: Inside In a crate, no jumping, running or playing for _____days. Normal activity SUTURES: Sutures are absorbable and do not need to be removed. Sutures need to come out in 10-14 days. Call for appointment, there is no charge for this. LABORATORY: No lab work pending. Results were normal. We will call with results. MEDICATION: Pain relief: Rimadyl, give as directed. Begin tonight Begin tomorrow Antibiotics, give as directed. CATS: Shredded paper should be used in the litter box for about 7 days.
