<p>ITEM C604.6X EXISTING MANHOLE AND CATCH BASIN ADJUSTMENT</p><p>DESCRIPTION</p><p>The work shall conform to the requirements of NYSDOT Standard Specifications, Section 604, latest revision, with the following modifications:</p><p>MATERIALS </p><p>Common sewer brick used for adjustment of manholes and catch basins to grade shall conform to ASTM C32 (Sewer Brick) Grade SS.</p><p>Interior dampproofing shall be Sikagard 62 as manufactured by Sika Corporation, Duralkote 312 as manufactured by Dural International, or approved equal.</p><p>CONSTRUCTION DETAILS</p><p>Catch Basin Adjustment</p><p>When adjustment of existing structures to proper grade is specified, the frames, covers, and gratings, shall be removed and cleaned and the walls reconstructed a minimum height of 12”. The cleaned frames shall be reset at the required elevation. Upon completion, each structure shall be cleaned of any accumulation of silt, debris, or foreign matter of any kind and shall be kept clear of such accumulation until final acceptance of the work.</p><p>Dampproofing</p><p>Dampproofing materials shall be delivered to the site in the manufacturer’s sealed containers, clearly marked with the name of the product. Application methods and temperature shall be in accordance with the written recommendations of the manufacturer and as approved by the ENGINEER. All interior surfaces including the bottom shall receive two field coats of dampproofing.</p><p>Adjustment of Manholes</p><p>The manhole castings shall be removed and cleaned of all existing extraneous material. Brick and mortar leveling courses shall be constructed to accommodate the new finish grade. The casting and new brick adjustment or concrete rings shall be encased within a minimum 8” thick concrete. This encasement shall extend a minimum of 12” outside the existing casting with the top of the concrete encasement being 3” below finish grade.</p><p>METHOD OF MEASUREMENT</p><p>Adjustment of Existing Catch Basins</p><p>The quantity to be measured for payment shall be the number of catch basins adjusted.</p><p>03744bd4f2da76f94f894af52b628036.doc1 of 2 Last Revised 11-07 ITEM C604.6X EXISTING MANHOLE AND CATCH BASIN ADJUSTMENT</p><p>Adjustment of Existing Manholes</p><p>The quantity to be measured for payment shall be the number of manholes adjusted.</p><p>BASIS OF PAYMENT</p><p>Adjustment of Existing Catch Basins</p><p>The unit price bid shall include the cost of: removal and resetting existing frame and grate; dampproofing; cleaning existing catch basin and lateral; disposing all debris; excavation and backfill; and furnishings all labor, material and equipment necessary to complete the work.</p><p>Replacement of broken frames, covers and grates shall be paid for separately under NYSDOT Standard Specifcations, Section 655 Frames and Grates, latest revision.</p><p>Adjustment of Existing Manholes</p><p>The unit price paid for each manhole adjustment shall include the cost of: removing and resetting existing frame and cover; concrete encasement; masonry; excavation; and furnishing all labor, material and equipment necessary to complete the work.</p><p>Payment will be made under:</p><p>Item No. Item Pay Unit</p><p>C604.60 Adjust Existing Catch Basin Frame and Grate EA C604.61 Adjust Existing Manhole Frame and Cover EA</p><p>03744bd4f2da76f94f894af52b628036.doc2 of 2 Last Revised 11-07</p>
