<p> VAIL SCHOOL DISTRICT Cottonwood Elementary School Site Base Council Meeting Minutes October 23, 2012, 4:30 PM</p><p>The meeting of the Cottonwood Site Base Council was called to order by Mr. Mendivil. Members present were: Ms. Leesa Irwin, Mrs. Mimi Thomas, Kirk Perrini, Dawn Ball and Mr. Dave Conca. Others present included, Mrs. Bobbi Mayeux, Ms. Ashley Curtis, Mrs. Tracie Livingston and Mrs. Brandy Dujmic.</p><p>Mrs. Thomas moved to approve the Minutes of August 28, 2012, Mr. Perrini seconded, the motion carried.</p><p>Member Reports: PTSA/Mrs. Thomas: The Cookie Dough fundraiser sales have begun. All orders are due by Tuesday, October 30. Delivery on all items will be Monday, November 19th. Planning is under way to have a Jingle Run on Thursday, December 20. Money raised will go towards the Giving Tree. More information will be given at a later date as details are still being worked out.</p><p>Administrative Report: Mrs. Mayeux reported on the following: Current Enrollment: 615</p><p>- New Hires: Emily Tanner, Tracie Livingston & Michael Owen - Mr. Owen’s class list - Intersession: 56 students attended, Teachers were: Maguire, Kampelman, Cave, Baltes, Sutton, Jeffries, and Hooper (Head Sprout) - AED & Epi Pen Staff Training - Community Services 5 Star rating and Chicken Coop - Technology classrooms package Up-coming Events: - Red Ribbon Week - McTeacher Night - Operation Care Giver - Gaslight Theater event</p><p>Recognitions: Mimi Thomas recognized Ms. Irwin and Mrs. Sutton on putting together an awesome Movie Night held at Cottonwood. Everyone had a great time at the event.</p><p>Ms. Irwin recognized Mimi Thomas for all of her help during the Movie Night event.</p><p>Mr. Conca recognized Ashley Curtis for her “Through Our Eyes” program. She is doing a phenomenal job with the kids.</p><p>Mrs. Mayeux recognized the following individuals: - 3rd Grade Team for welcoming Mr. Owen - Dan Lyons & Manny Thomas for Restraint Training during Fall Break - REACH Team: Ashley, Jodie, Elizabeth, Carol, and Sarah for supporting students academically during REACH. - Jennifer Kirkpatrick and Tina Williams for organizing and facilitating the SpEd Retreat during break and those who attended are: Emily, Jean, Audrey Nelson, Marie, Sam, and Kalei. - Intersession teachers: Maguire, Kampelman, Cave, Baltes, Sutton, Jeffries, and Hooper. Mrs. Magnuson for organizing the intersession.</p><p>Consent Agenda: Mimi Thomas moved, Dave Conca seconded, a motion to approve the consent agenda as presented involving a 5th grade field trip to VTOTA on 11/15/12, an AR/McTeacher Night fundraiser on 10/25/12, Student Council fundraisers consisting of: a Skate Country Night on 12/20/12 and 3/7/13, Holiday Grams the week of 12/10/12, Valentine Grams the week of 2/4/13 and Friendship Grams the week of 5/13/13, and also the Student Council Store that will sell items on 11/9/12, 12/14/12, 1/11/13, 1/25/13, 3/15/13, 4/12/13, 4/26/13 and 5/10/13. The motion carried.</p><p>Old Business: None</p><p>New Business: A) Prop 204 – Council members viewed videos showing for and against Prop 204. B) Title I Program – Mrs. Dujmic shared information with Council members about how our school became a Title 1 school. </p><p>Ms. Irwin moved to hold the next meeting on Tuesday, November 27, 2012, Dave Conca seconded, the motion carried.
