<p> Griffin and Calliachar Community Fund Enterprise Grant Application Guidelines</p><p>Before you begin Please note: this form is only for Enterprise grant applications to the Griffin and Calliachar Wind Farm Community Fund. </p><p>Application forms can be requested from SSE or from GrowBiz. These documents will be updated from time to time. Please make sure you have the latest version.</p><p>Key information What are enterprise grants? Enterprise grants are intended to make the Griffin and Calliachar Community Fund available to small businesses, start-up businesses and social enterprises who require grant funding to pursue their objectives. The process of applying for and receiving an enterprise grant is intended to be relatively quick and light touch, and will be managed by GrowBiz. How much can I apply for using this For the Small and Medium Grant Application form - Up to £5,000. For the Large Grant application forms? Application Form – Up to £20,000 Where does this money come from? SSE operates the 68 turbine Griffin wind farm and 14 turbine Calliachar wind farm near Aberfeldy in Perthshire. The Griffin and Calliachar Community Investment Fund has been established as a means of enabling SSE to contribute to the communities located around these wind farms. Which areas can benefit from the The community council areas of Aberfeldy, Dull and Weem, Dunkeld and Birnam, fund? Kenmore and District and Mid Atholl, Strathtay and Grandtully. How do I apply for a enterprise grant? Small businesses, start-up businesses and social enterprises seeking an enterprise grant should complete the applicable application form available at www.sse.com/beingresponsible/responsiblecommunitymember/localcommunityfunds/ griffinandcalliachar/ Completed application forms should be emailled directly to GrowBiz. When can I apply? There is no closing date for applications for enterprise grants and applications can be accepted at any time. When are decisions made? GrowBiz will inform you by letter and email of the outcome of your application as soon as possible, but the timescale will depend on when panel meetings are held. Please note that applications submitted immediately before a meeting may not be considered until the following meeting. Who can apply? Applications for enterprise grants can be accepted from small businesses, start-up businesses and social enterprises. Businesses must be based in one of the five eligible community council areas: Aberfeldy, Dull and Weem, Dunkeld and Birnam, Kenmore and District and Mid Atholl, Strathtay and Grandtully.</p><p>May 2017 Page 1 of 2 What can enterprise grants be used It must be noted that any grant from the Enterprise fund should demonstrate a wider for? community benefit, therefore the following will be considered.  The improve of services available to the local communities  The increase of employment within the local communities  The improvement and development of local businesses</p><p>Are there any activities you’re unable  Projects which do not benefit people living within the community council areas of to support? Aberfeldy, Dull and Weem, Dunkeld and Birnam, Kenmore and District and Mid Atholl, Strathtay and Grandtully.  The advancement of religion or politics (including requests to support the core activities of religious or political groups)  The purchase of second hand vehicles  Trips abroad  Costs of energy consumption  The repayment of loans or payment of debts  Costs already incurred or activities which will take place before we have made a decision on an application (retrospective funding).  Payments towards areas generally understood to be the exclusive responsibility of statutory authorities.  Applications that are for the sole benefit to flora and fauna. Applicants are invited to demonstrate the direct benefit to the local community and/or service users in cases where the grant application is concerned with flora and fauna.  Anti-wind farm/renewable energy activities, including activities contrary to the interests of SSE and its subsidiaries.</p><p>Additional information  You may only apply for one enterprise grant at a time.  If your application is successful, you will not be able to reapply for another enterprise grant for 12 months, although in exceptional circumstances the panel may decide to waive this.  If your application is unsuccessful, you may reapply immediately.  Any grant received must be spent within one year of being awarded.  Applying for, or holding, a grant from the enterprise grants scheme does not prevent businesses from applying for a grant from any other grant-making programme operated through the Griffin and Calliachar Community Fund provided that the application is not to support the same project or activity.  Please bear in mind that requests for enterprise grants are likely to exceed the limited amount of funding available and not all applications will be successful.  A team from the Rural Policy Centre at Scotland’s Rural College (SRUC) will be evaluating the impacts of the Fund.</p><p>Completed forms should be sent to Growbiz Please send your completed Enterpise Grant application form to Growbiz using one of the methods below: GrowBiz – www.growbiz.co.uk Mark Barron, Finance Administrator, GrowBiz, 9 Reform Street, Blairgowrie, PH10 6BD [email protected] 07919 598093</p><p>May 2017 Page 2 of 2</p>
