<p> Feather River College LEARNING CONTRACT FOR INDEPENDENT STUDIES </p><p>DEFINITION OF INDEPENDENT STUDY: INDEPENDENT STUDY is designed for a student who, due to special circumstances, cannot attend a class (es) as regularly scheduled. APPLICATION/APPROVAL:</p><p>1. The Independent Study form must be filed in the Admissions and Records Office during the first eight (8) weeks of classes. </p><p>2. The student and the instructor meet collaboratively to initiate the Independent Study contract.</p><p>3. The faculty member will electronically forward the Independent Study contract to the Administrative Assistant/CIO for review and approval by the Chief Instructional Officer. </p><p>4. The Instruction Office forwards the approved contract to the Instructional Scheduler for assignment of the course registration number. </p><p>5. The Instructional Scheduler will forward via email a copy of the final approved contract to the faculty member. </p><p>6. The faculty member will contact the student to inform them that they may now enroll.</p><p>7.
