Tom Richardson Award 2013 USA CALL for NOMINATIONS Tom Richardson Served As President Of

Tom Richardson Award 2013 | USA CALL FOR NOMINATIONS

Tom Richardson served as president of the Colliers office in Phoenix and was one of the original board members of Colliers USA, serving as vice chairman. Tom’s enthusiasm for the Colliers organization and, more importantly, for people in general, was contagious. More so than any other individual, Tom gave Colliers a personality, and promoted the human side of the organization. His warmth, sense of humor and strength of character were his trademarks. Tom always placed others first, and derived joy from seeing their happiness, success and good fortune. He did not measure the quality of his life in terms of dollars or number of deals.

Away from Colliers and the real estate business, Tom served his fellow man as a captain in the United States Army, piloting helicopters during assignments in Korea and Vietnam; as chairman of the Phoenix Chamber of Commerce; as a leader of the Phoenix Thunderbirds, a long-standing and revered local civic organization; as trustee of the Phoenix Art Museum; and as a worker in many other institutions in the Phoenix area.

The Tom Richardson Award is presented to the individual within Colliers International | USA who best exemplifies the personal character displayed by Tom, who lost his battle with cancer in 1999. Among those traits are:

> Impeccable integrity > A passion for sharing > Unqualified love of family and friends > A dedication to the community, especially the less fortunate > A contagious sense of humor and the ability to see the good in all events and all people > The genius to maintain a balanced perspective of business, family, friends and community > An unbridled enthusiasm for all undertakings

The Tom Richardson Award is the most prestigious that Colliers can bestow, for it recognizes lasting personal character, not short-term performance. The purpose of the award is to raise the entire character of the Colliers team through acknowledgement of true leaders whose example helps us all strive to meet the standards of Tom Richardson.

A nominating ballot with instructions is attached.
