As described in the HCIA 495 Course Syllabus, grading of your work is done by all three of the full time program faculty, with your major instructor providing 50%, and the two other instructors providing 25% each.

This review should be taken as a indication that your work is meeting, exceeding, or failing to meet, program expectations and requirements.

In this review the faculty looked for breadth of exploration, and depth of exploration. The design work presented was evaluated in terms of:

------process: how you have been conducting your design explorations

------communication: how you expressed (showed) the design explorations you have undertaken

------craft: how well you have made drawings, models, and other visual imagery

------synthesis of related knowledge: have you made use of a variety of

appropriate knowledge sets, for example, lighting, ergonomics, materials, environmental

------overall quality of design work: is the work you are doing well thought out, interesting, exploring interesting and challenging ideas

------attitude: do you have a positive, engaged, professional attitude toward your work

------teachability: do you listen to, engage with, and respond to, faculty comments and instruction

------work ethic: are you making a sufficient effort to produce high quality design work, or do you need to spend substantially more time and effort than you have been doing.

Mid-Term Review Grade: Overall Grade ______

Major Instructor ______

Minor Instructor ______

Minor Instructor ______

Administrative note: The programmatic requirement of this Senior Thesis course is simple: you must earn a grade of 'C' in order to receive credit for completing the course within the Interior Architecture major requirements.

The level of quality, of design excellence, to which each of you may aspire will of course vary from individual to individual. Nevertheless, the faculty believe that every member of the senior class of 2004 has the potential to produce a very good quality senior thesis project. To this end, we encourage each of you to make a significant effort to produce design work that speaks clearly, professionally, and eloquently about your ideas, desires, and your future career. A greater effort now will yield a more substantial sense of accomplishment in the very near future of your life as a college graduate.
