Quick Lock saves time. 50% when opening and 33% when closing. In a video comparison between a trailer with Quick Lock and one without, the time-saving for opening the tarpaulin was 25 seconds. With an reasonable assumption of 1000 openings in a year (250 working days per year and four openings a day) the haulier can make a cost saving of 6.94 hours, which is almost a complete working day.

The principle: A shaft with hooks is mounted under the loading platform. Loops on the tarpaulin fasteners simply locate into the hooks, then by means of a centrally mounted lever in the vehicle, the shaft is rotated, the hooks then pull the loops downwards, bringing the tarpaulin under tension. Triangular eyelets with different length arms are located at the loop ends, by manually turning these asymmetrical triangles prior to the attachment of the tarpaulin the amount of tensioning that the Quick Lock should exert can be set. Prior to unloading all fastenings can also be opened in one go, simply by rotating the shaft in the opposite direction: All fastenings fall from their hooks leaving the tarpaulin free to be moved.

______

Telephone contact Tina Böttcher +49 (0)36482 830 218 Götz Gemeinhardt +49 (0)176 10 10 55 12 Fliegl Fahrzeugbau GmbH Oberpöllnitzer Str. 8 D-07819 Triptis Germany Tel +49 (0)36482 830 0 Fax +49 (0)36482 830 60 Email [email protected] Internet http://www.fliegl.com

Press release from 4 May 2015 Number of characters: 3027 Page 2

An additional application opens the modification Quick Lock Twin. Double eyelets on the tarpaulin mean the proven Quick Lock principle can quickly and easily be used for the first time in the Fliegl Megarunner, with two different inner heights. For more cargo volume the long-ear openings are hung on the Quick Lock shaft. If a smaller volume is sufficient, the classic triangular loops are used. Now that the long overhanging curtains can be folded inward and fixed with Velcro strips.

The time advantage is obvious: Fiegl assumes a time saving of up to 50% during opening and 33% when closing the tarpaulin, can be achieved with the tarpaulin central locking system.

Above all hauliers who have to load and unload many times a day, or have time restrictions on how long they are able stop for their deliveries, can significantly profit from this. The best example is the car supply sector, in which quite literally every second can count.

Apart from this, this innovation helps to save fuel costs: Strapping buckles are no longer needed, so there is now a flat tarpaulin surface, that is less exposed to soiling. The wind resistance and fuel consumption of the trailer are reduced.

The Quick Lock system from Fliegl controls 12 hooks, which give the tarpaulin considerably higher stability and increases the transport security by more than devices from other manufacturers, who simply use the locking points. It works completely mechanically and in this way is not susceptible to disruptions, the need for repairs has been practically excluded.

You can find pictures relating to this press release at the following link: http://www.fliegl-fahrzeugbau.de/index.cfm?cid=1299&path=/Deutsch

______

INNOVATING FOR YOU – Top quality in series

Fliegl produces trailers and semi-trailers for logistics, hauliers and construction.
