<p>180 Degree Rule Video Assignment</p><p>You group is to make one video camera look like three (or more).</p><p>More specifically, you are to follow the 180 Degree Rule and film a two-person dialogue scene from at least three different perspectives or angles. By having your actors duplicate the performance of a short script numerous times, you can capture the scene from three or more perspectives and edit them together into a seamless sequence. </p><p>Make sure to keep the camera placements within the same side of ‘THE LINE.”</p><p>Step 1: Two members of your group are going to be actors, and the other two are going to be the production crew. As a group, write a 1-2 page script of dialogue between two characters, which you will film for your example of following the 180 degree rule. </p><p>Step 2: As a group, draw a simple storyboard showing when you want to cut to the “Camera 1 Angle, Camera 2 angle, or the Camera 3 angle. Note: Don’t just randomly switch from one shot to another; choose carefully when and why you want to make that cuts. Before you shoot. Use the camera to tell your story. You can use close-ups, or other framing heights as long as you follow the 180 degree rule.</p><p>Step 3: Choose your location and begin rehearsal for the entire scene. Once the group is happy with the performances, and the dialogue then it is time to double- check the equipment and plan your production. Note: Many directors choose to shoot the entire dialogue from one master shot and then shoot the alternate perspectives as the storyboard indicates. This requires the actors to reproduce their performances for continuity in editing.</p><p>Step 4: PRODUCTION. * Audio is crucial for a scene with dialogue. With your teachers, help, make sure the audio is being captured to heap the voices of both actors before you begin your production. Shoot your segment following your production plan. Note: It is a good idea to shoot every shot more than once to make sure you got what you want.</p><p>Step 5: Edit your shot together following your storyboard, and at a title at the beginning, ,and your credits at the end.</p>
