<p> Parent Meeting 2015</p><p>CONTACT INFORMATION</p><p>HEAD COACH</p><p>Bryan Austin </p><p>573-979-9273 or [email protected]</p><p>ASSISTANT COACHES</p><p>Josh Wahlig, Logan Lawson - Varsity</p><p>Brad Berry, Jack Thompson, Trent Wills - JV</p><p>Jeremy Smith, Clay Macke, Chris Kirby - Freshman</p><p>TRYOUT INFORMATION</p><p>Team Selection Process</p><p>Varsity</p><p>JV</p><p>Freshman</p><p>Try Out Dates and Times</p><p>March 2nd and 3rd at the Jackson Legion field</p><p>Grades 9-10 from 3:30pm – 5:30</p><p>Grades 11-12 from 5:30 t0 7:30</p><p>SCHEDULES</p><p>All schedules are posted on www.indianhardball.com</p><p>Tournament brackets will also be posted or handed out.</p><p>You will be notified through text messages when there are schedule changes</p><p>IMPORTAJNT DATES</p><p>Feburary 21st – Trivia and Silent Auction at the Jackson Elks</p><p>March 2nd - 1st day of tryouts March 4th – 1st full team practice</p><p>March 6th parent meeting at the jr high beginning at 6:30pm</p><p>IN SEASON PRACTICE SCHEDULE</p><p>Varsity (Herzog Stadium)– We will begin practice at 3:25 and be over around 6:00</p><p>Varsity will also practice on Saturday 3/7,during spring break and also on Saturday 5/9</p><p>JV (Legion Field)will begin practice after school and end at 6:00</p><p>Freshman – (Legion Softball Field) Ride the sports bus to the legion field. Practice should be out by 6:00</p><p>EQUIPMENT INFORMATION</p><p>Varsity Provided: 2 game jerseys, 2 game pants, hat, practice jersey, helmet</p><p>Fines – Game jersey $95, Game pants $30, Helmet $40</p><p>JV Provided– 2 game jerseys, hat, practice jersey</p><p>Fines – Game jersey $80, practice jersey $40</p><p>Freshman Provided- Game jersey, practice jersey, hat</p><p>Fines – Game Jersey $50, Practice Jersey $40</p><p>YOU WILL NEED SPIKES (PREFERABLY BLACK) AND PRACTICE PANTS (WHITE)</p><p>All players are expected to have a black undershirt.</p><p>Expectations of Players</p><p>1. Pass all classes every six weeks</p><p>2. Be prepared and on time</p><p>3. Pick up after practice and games – take care of the facility</p><p>4. Be respectful to coaches, teachers, administrators, and opponents</p><p>5. Be a good teammate – Know your role</p><p>6. Strive to have zero mental mistakes in practice and in games</p><p>7. Be coachable</p><p>8. Call when you will miss practice due to an emergency WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT FROM THE COACHES</p><p>1. To make decisions that are best for the team/program</p><p>2. To be honest with you and your son</p><p>3. To discipline your son and hold him to a very high standard</p><p>4. To help develop your son physically, mentally and emotionally</p><p>5. To teach your son life lessons through the game of baseball</p><p>APPROPRIATE CONCERNS TO DISCUSS WITH A COACH</p><p>1. The coaches interaction with your son</p><p>2. How the coach can help your son become a better athlete and student</p><p>3. Concerns about your son’s interactions with others</p><p>4. Emotions are running to high and will not result in a positive resolution.</p><p>PARENT CODE OF CONDUCT</p><p>1. Love and support your child and the team, win or lose</p><p>2. Be realistic about your child’s ability</p><p>3. Be positive and encouraging at all times 4. Do not come to the fence , dugout, or on deck circle during a game to talk to your child</p><p>5. Respect the coach’s decisions and encourage others to do the same</p><p>6. Communicate</p><p>MISC. INFO</p><p>Practice outside of Jackson High School – Players are not to be trying out, or practicing with other teams until the Jackson season is over. </p><p>Athletic Trainer/Injuries - Jackson has two full time trainers on staff. Athletes need to see the trainer if they have concerns about injuries. Use this as the first route.</p><p>Away Games- Players can ride home with their parents only. Parents must sign them out with the coach.</p><p>PLAYERS BEWARE</p><p>Players need to understand that what they “put out” on the internet is for everyone to see and they can be held accountable for the content they have on their sites</p><p>- TWITTER</p><p>- FACEBOOK</p><p>- INSTAGRAM </p><p>- OTHER SOCIAL MEDIA SITE</p><p>PARENTS- It is your job to monitor what your son has on his site.</p><p>We will investigate if we are given information about content on your son’s site</p>
