<p> Monday 11/03/14 Social Studies </p><p>First Things First: 1. Have a seat with your new partner for the 2nd Marking Period. 2. Take a few minutes to introduce yourself and find out the following information about them: a. What is the farthest that they have traveled from Birmingham. b. Which grade level have they enjoyed the most and why. c. What their favorite shape is. d. Where in the world they would choose to live if they were exiled from the United States. e. How many countries in South America or Europe they can name without using a map (you choose one of the continents and they get the other).</p><p>Today’s Objectives:</p><p> o Use the fundamental themes of geography to describe regions or places on earth. 6- G1.3.1</p><p>What we plan to do today:</p><p>1. Meet new table partners for the 2nd Marking period.</p><p>2. Tally up the points and announce the winning team in the debate. </p><p>3. Find someone at your table who was on the other side of the Great Lakes De- bate and help them complete the Reading Notes for Chapter 4 in your ISN. • You have facts for one side of the debate, now you need to get facts for the other side of the debate.</p><p>4. Debrief the debate (stepping outside of your roles): • Which side do you believe made the best arguments?</p><p>• What are some ways that people affect freshwater ecosystems in posi- tive ways?</p><p>• What are some ways that people affect freshwater ecosystems in nega- tive ways? Monday 11/03/14 • What lessons can we learn about what to do and what not to do to pro- tect and preserve Earth’s freshwater resources?</p><p>5. Complete the “Reading a Fish Advisory Table” and “Practice Quiz”.</p><p>6. Review answers to the Practice Quiz and Fish Advisory Table Questions.</p><p>7. If there is time, you can read 4.7 and 4.8 together (pp.74-77).</p><p>8. Can begin the “Global Freshwater Threats” Questions.</p><p>Homework: Nothing.</p>
