<p> FY2 Emergency Medicine</p><p>F2 Emergency Medicine Placement Adult Emergency Department (this post does not include the The department Paediatric emergency department)</p><p>Chelsea and Westminster Hospital Trust & Site All aspects of adult emergency medicine will be covered in this 4 month post. This will include resuscitation, presentations to the majors area especially medical and surgical emergencies as well as gynaecology, orthopaedics and psychiatry. The type of work to expect and learning The post also includes working in the fully integrated Urgent Care opportunities Centre (UCC) managing GP type presentations as well as injuries and ENT and Eye problems. All aspects of the F2 curriculum are covered. A good opportunity for practical procedures. Regional centre for Burns, Plastics and HIV.</p><p>The Nine ED Consultants are all supervisors. Dr Earby, Dr Roberts, Ms Longstaff, Dr Pillay, Dr Finlay, Dr Patil, Dr Deol, Dr Greenslade & Dr O Shaughnessy Clinical Supervisor(s) Specialist interests include trauma, resuscitation, education, for the placement ultrasound, sports medicine, international emergency medicine, research and toxicology.</p><p>Full shift pattern with no on call. Shifts are in both the main AE and the UCC. Main duties of the Majority of the work is in the diagnosis and treatment of the placement undifferentiated patient.</p><p>Shifts vary between 8 and 10 hours but by the nature of this 24 hour specialty do include a significant out of hours commitment of nights and weekends. Rota includes 2 hours of teaching every Typical working week covered by other staff. There is consultant presence till pattern in this 10.00pm during the week and there is a 19 Registrar rota placement providing 24 hour presence for support and advice. The Urgent Care Centre also has very experienced Emergency Nurse practitioners with a keen interest in education.
