Degree 42 Without Certification in Educational Administration & Policy</p><p>TOTAL 72</p><p>Supervisory committee substitutions for the above requirements may, in those circumstances where the experiences/preparation of the student warrant, be approved by the Graduate Coordinator and Department Chair. Specialist Examination The specialist examination is taken at the end of the student’s specialist coursework. The specialist examination is 6 hours in duration with two 3 hour blocks. Questions are customized to each student and are written by the student’s committee. Each specialist exam segment must include at least two questions, but additional questions are at the discretion of the committee. While all committee members are responsible for the construction of the specialist questions, the chair of the committee is ultimately charged with the final slate. Upon completion of the written exam, copies are sent to the committee and the student. The written examination is followed by an oral exam of the student’s specialist committee.</p><p>Status of pass or fail will be determined after the oral portion of the qualifying exam. Student work and defense of work is graded on a pass or fail basis separately for each question.
