
<p>FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: June 11, 2013 Contacts: Angela Castro, RTC, (702) 676-1552 office, (702) 578-4876 cell Julie Schaller, RTC, (702) 676-1623, (702) 576-4712 cell</p><p>RTC seeks public input on transportation projects to be included in 2013–2016 Transportation Improvement Program amendment Public meeting scheduled for June 26</p><p>LAS VEGAS – The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC), as the designated Metropolitan Planning Organization, is seeking public comment on a proposed amendment to the 2013-2016 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP). </p><p>WHAT: RTC public information meeting to seek input on changes to TIP WHEN: Wednesday, June 26, 4 p.m. – 6 p.m. WHERE: Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada, Room 108 600 South Grand Central Parkway, Las Vegas, Nevada 89106</p><p>The following changes are proposed in this TIP amendment: changes to the funding and programming of transportation projects in the TIP; the addition of new projects to be prioritized under the Transportation Alternatives Program; projects which will be advanced from the 2035 Regional Transportation Plan (RTP) into the TIP; add projects under the Federal Transit Administration Section 5310 Elderly and Disabled Program and Section 5307 Urbanized Area Formula Program; and other new projects requested by the area agencies for inclusion in the TIP. </p><p>The TIP contains federally funded projects and regionally significant transportation improvement projects for highways, transit, bikeways, and pedestrian safety in Clark County. The TIP is developed in cooperation with the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT), Clark County, and the cities of Boulder City, Henderson, Las Vegas, Mesquite and North Las Vegas.</p><p>Members of the public can view the TIP online at rtcsnv.com or through print or CD request during the comment period from Monday, June 17 through Tuesday, July 16 by 5 p.m. Public comments will be accepted online at rtcsnv.com, by email to Aileen Pastor at [email protected]; telephone at (702) 676-1606; TDD: (702) 676-1834; or fax (702) 676-1589.
